I have been using Boots.com for about 5 years. I first stared using them when I bought my new house, and found it was much easier to pop online and place an order, saving time for other things like stripping wallpaper and sanding floorboards! I also found their 3 for 2 and buy one get one free offers meant that I could buy in bulk the things I used a lot of, like shampoo and sanitary products, and just get them delivered instead of having to cart them through town and on a busy, cramped bus home!

When it came to my first Christmas in my new home, I used Boots.com for things like wrapping paper and little stocking fillers, and found it so much easier to buy from one place. I also liked to make use of the facility to buy a present, have it gift wrapped and sent to a different address – I did this quite a lot when friends who live in different parts of the country had babies or birthdays. Now that I tend to focus on making my own Christmas and birthday presents, I don’t use it so much for this, but still get toiletries and suchlike from the site.

The Boots.com site is very colourful, and on the home page there are always huge banners (normally in bright, bold red) telling you what the current special offers are. At the moment, there are three banners, one green, one pink, one red, all showing different offers, and a large section in the middle of the home page showing ½ price electricals etc. To get to the site all you do is type in www.boots.com, and you will find yourself on the home page. I always sign in first, and if you haven’t signed up already, you’ll find this very easy to do simply by clicking the “register” tab at the top centre of the page.

Tesco Diets (previously called Tesco eDiets) is one of our favourite programmes – not as extreme as many, but delivering personalised, varied and above all enjoyable menu plans.

Tesco Diets claims to be the largest weight loss programme in the UK, and a major reason is the online anonymity it allows its customers.

The wide variety of foods on this plan are one of its strongest features – you won’t go hungry or get bored on Tesco’s plan. Of course, because this diet is less restrictive than many, your weight loss will tend to be less than the more extreme plans, but if you can stay on it for the long-term, more moderate weight loss is healthier and more sustainable. If you have a lot to lose, it might be a good idea to try a more hardcore diet first for a bit, then transition to Tesco to keep the weight off and continue at a more measured pace.

The support is handled online, including weigh-ins which you enter, and you can use the support as much or as you like, or go it on your own. You can seek advice 24/7 via email, telephone or a live chat session with an advisor, and there are online meetings that you can attend at least once per week.

Within the Tesco Diet plan their are six options–the GI Diet (Glycemic Index-based to stabilise blood sugar levels), the Mediterranean Diet (plenty of fruit, veg, and fish), the Total Wellbeing Diet (high protein), and Vegetarian (no meat), Low Carb (Atkins style), Light Choices (balanced approach with snack). Or, you can choose a one of nine diets targeting a specific issues: Diabetes, Low Sugar, Low Salt, Cholesterol Lowering, Dairy Free, Heart Smart, High Fibre, Gluten Free, or Low Fat. There is a mix of ready meals and meals you prepare yourself. Looking at customer comments across the net, some people rave that’s it’s the best and most healthy diet they’ve ever tried, while others complain about the cost. We certainly give it our enthusiastic support as one of the top diets.

If you’re in the market for a weight loss pill that will help you eat more foods that you enjoy without suffering weight gain because of it, using one weight loss pill, Alli, may just be the solution you’re looking for.

If you’re at all familiar with the prescription-only weight loss drug Xenical, then you already have a pretty good idea of what Alli is all about. This product contains the same active ingredient that Xenical does, however is a lower strength pill that does not require a prescription.

If you’re looking to get a bit of help in your weight loss diet, Alli can provide that help. But, you must remember that this does not completely excuse you from eating poorly. If you consume too much fat in your meals or eat too high of a calorie intake, you’re still going to suffer from weight gain.

Alli is only going to help out in modest amounts and those who do not take the time to make long term changes to their eating behaviours will never realize permanent success.

Also, be sure that you do keep those side effects in mind as these are quite serious health effects that you really have to weigh the pros and cons with. Many people may decide that using Alli is just not worth risking this kind of damage to the body.

Adios From Chemist Direct – I use to be a very slim a size 8, then over the last 18 months I went up to a size 12. I really want to lose 1 stone 7 ibs. So far i have lost 7 ibs and this is my 3 rd week, this is the quickest i have ever lost weight. All i do is have three meals a day nothing silly just either boiled egg and piece of toast low fat spread, sandwich usually tuna low fat mayo on whole meal and meat and veg for main meal. I have now dropped down to a size 10 i am just doing hour of excerise a day using works gym 30 mins and walking my dogs. So its a very easy diet to stick too really. So i would recommend adios, just give urself a reasonable target weight loss as on my first week i only dropped 3 pounds, then 4 pounds this week .

A few days ago, while shopping at a local retail park, I spied a branch of The Body Shop and, in the gloominess of a wintry late afternoon, it suddenly looked very inviting. Now, unlike high street branches, this particular store is more of a sale outlet….most of the stock is heavily discounted. While even smaller than your average branch, every corner was jam packed with special offers, as much as 75% discount on some items! My lucky day!!

I am sure most readers are familiar with the type of products that The Body Shop stock, so I won’t launch into a rundown of their entire inventory. Suffice it to say, that everything you would expect to find was there…..cosmetics, skincare (male and female…..yes lads, we expect you to make an effort for us too!), bath and body ranges, fragrances, scented candles, hair care products etc. You can view their latest ranges on their website by clicking their banner below.

The latest range of gift packs for Christmas were on display along with the current skincare offerings but, as this months budget was already looking shaky, I headed for the bargain section and started testing. There were so many offers to tempt me and at prices that were almost too good to be true but, mindful of my meagre funds, I decided that on this occasion I would only sample a few. There will be future expeditions to this store!

I bought:
2 x 500ml bottles of seaweed & peony shampoo RRP £7 each, cost £2 each
3 x boxes of mini bath and shower gel duos (containing 2 x 60ml)) RRP £5 each cost £4 for 3
Bergamot cologne spray 100ml RRP £11 cost £2.75
The full recommended retail price of my purchases came to a total of £40 but the discounted total was only £10.75. A very worthwhile wee spot of shopping I concluded!

And it gets better………………….

Love Your Body

The assistant who served me asked if I would like to join the ‘love your body’ scheme where you collect a stamp for every purchase to the value of £10 or more. She explained that the membership card cost £5 for a year and that the benefits include:
10% off all your purchases from The Body Shop for one year
Rewards with your fourth and eighth qualifying purchases (those of £10 or more)

After the fourth qualifying purchase you can choose a free product(s) valued up to £5
After the eighth qualifying purchase you can choose a free product(s) valued up to £10 and you also receive a free replacement card ( valid for another year from the date of that purchase)

A birthday gift when you come in during your birthday month (retail value up to £5)
Exclusive updates on what’s happening in their shops

Special offers by e-mail
Exclusive member events

This seems like a pretty good deal and well worth taking advantage of if you intend to shop there on a regular basis. After the initial fee, if you make eight purchases of £10 or more within each year, you will never have to pay for another card and you also get your yearly £20 worth of freebies of your choice. You do have to make sure you carry your card as it must be presented at the time of purchase in order to collect your stamps and the purchase of gift vouchers does not qualify for stamps.

I think this is an excellent incentive as, not only will my discount purchases (of which I plan to make many!) qualify towards rewards, but I will also get a further 10% off!

I am thrilled with the recent purchases I made and realise there are still many things I like about Body Shop products. The simple packaging has a certain appeal. The texture of their body butters is sumptuous. I still love those juicy, fruity lip balms. I adore the scent of many of their products, but feel the urge to throw up at the cloying sickliness of others. In many ways my tastes have changed and needs must be satisfied elsewhere but, rather than our passing acquaintance of late, I think we may settle into an easy friendship

As a student nurse and health promoter, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to have a wee say on this shop. Most people think of Holland & Barrett as a vegetarian or vegan store, but it’s not. I eat meat in my diet and found their meat substitute products to be really scrummie. The nice thing about their food is that they use natural products which sit well with our digestive systems. It’s fab if you’re trying a diet and just can’t resist the odd bit of meat. Their meat has no animal fats, is balanced with nutients and vitamins and really good for you. They do a wide variety of health pills and products as well as food. Their range on soya products are excellent, you won’t be disappointed I assure you. There is a little something for everyone in this shop, from veggies to vegans to carnivores… worth checking out. Oh yes, I almost forgot. If you like pork pies, Holland and Barratt’s are to die for!

Sciatica symptoms

For some people, sciatica pain can be severe and debilitating. For others, pain may be infrequent and irritating, but has the potential to worsen.

While sciatica can be very painful, it is rare that permanent damage to the sciatic nerve (tissue damage) will result. Most sciatica symptoms result from inflammation and get better within two weeks to several months. In addition, due to the spinal cord is not present in the lower (lumbar) spine, a herniated disc in this area of the anatomy does not present a danger of paralysis.

Although relatively rare, two with sciatica symptoms that require immediate medical attention and the possibility of emergency surgery include: progressive weakness in the leg, and either bladder or bowel incontinence or dysfunction. Patients with any of these symptoms can have syndrome ponytail and should seek immediate medical attention.
Sciatica medical definition: radiculopathy

To clarify medical terminology, the term sciatica (often misspelled as sciatica, or siatica cyatica) is often used very broadly to describe any form of pain that radiates down the leg, however, this is not technically correct . True sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve is pinched or irritated and the pain along the sciatic nerve is caused by this nerve (radicular pain) and is called a radiculopathy. When the pain is referred to the leg of a common problem (called referred pain), using the term sciatica is not technically correct. This type of referred pain (eg, arthritis or other joint problems) is quite common.

Sciatica Treatment

Sciatic nerve pain is caused by a combination of pressure and inflammation of the nerve root, and treatment focuses on relieving these two factors. Typical sciatica treatment include:

surgical sciatica-no, which may include one or a combination of medical treatments and alternative (non-medical) treatments, and almost always includes some type of back exercises and stretching. The objectives of surgical treatment sciatica-not, as sciatica exercises should include both relief of sciatica pain and prevention of future sciatica pain.

Sciatica surgery, such as microdiscectomy or lumbar laminectomy and discectomy, to remove the disc that is irritating the nerve root. This surgery is designed to help relieve pressure and swelling and can be justified if the sciatic nerve pain is severe and has not been relieved with appropriate medical treatment or manual.

Chiropractors regard the spine as the greatest influence on your overall health, because all organs of the body depend on the spinal cord (nerves) to transmit vital messages transmitted back and forth between their organs and the brain .

If the spine is injured or misaligned, it interferes with the transmission of these messages.

Chiropractic diagnose problems in the joints and spine with the help of x-rays. They are also able to detect various conditions of the spine, including the muscles around his hands. Chiropractic treatment is based on ensuring that your spine is in proper alignment in order to function properly.

Chiropractors mobilizations and manipulations used to generate movements of the spine, sometimes known as “cracking” the back, that place your spine in place.

Most chiropractic treatments to help with the relief of acute low back pain and address the status of the cause of their pain in the first place. In addition to the office in treatment, many chiropractors to exercise and prevention strategies for monitoring.

I have personal experience with most chiropractors and have used one for many years and the treatment that works for me. If you have a favorite type of specialist or treatment that helps you watch your back and work for you – that’s great too. Keep using them!

Remember we are looking at what works to stop back pain sciatica. No matter what is the time that works for you.

One key point though is that since he learned to take care of my back and began to strengthen, the siatica and low back pain rarely in the way (unless you do something really stupid).

(You can take a look at the Better Back System, which describes a set of unique exercises to loosen and strengthen your back. Many people have achieved excellent results in a short period of time.)

Now I have to visit the chiropractor much less frequently – on a monthly calendar, whereas before it was sometimes only a few days between treatments. What’s more important to me is that my back feels good and I can do what he wants most of the time.

Chiropractors do not really work

With any medical treatment, to get the full benefit you should educate yourself and decide for yourself if the treatment is working and whether the benefits continue to work for you.

Now, I’ve finally found a chiropractor who helps me. On the other hand, I also found others in which it was clearly only a number and they were interested only in the number of patients, and its turnover of financial performance.

Some people even said that all the chiropractic profession is a false alarm and professionals are basically the charlatans and the treatment is useless or even harmful.

On the other hand, there are clearly significant shortcomings and pitfalls in the current medical-pharmaceutical industry. Death and injury from accidents or medical mishaps is a significant risk.

Personally my major complaint about the current medical and pharmaceuticals industry is the main focus is the setting once you are sick (because that’s where most of the profits are). On the contrary, the best route to health is maintained and proactively care for their own welfare.

It is essential to the health and wellbeing that you take responsibility and draw their own conclusions with any treatment you decide.

The same applies to chiropractic work? My personal opinion is yes, in conjunction with an exercise program to loosen and develop the muscles that support your back.

Remember: Its up to you to decide what works for you – that’s what counts.
